Daisy Farmhouse Stand & The Children's Heart Foundation

Beyond excited is the only way to describe how I feel about partnering with The Children's Heart Foundation this month.  For the month of February, 10% of all sales will be donated to the Children's Heart Foundation to continue to support their research for children born with congenital heart defects.

For those who are not familiar with the foundation, the Children's Heart Foundation was founded in 1996 their mission is to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects by funding the most promising of research.

Every 15 minutes a child is born with a congenital heart defect in the United States.  CHD's are America's most common birth defect, common examples include holes in the inside walls of hearts, narrowed or leaky valves or in more severe cases blood vessels or chambers may be missing.  Most causes of CHD's are unknown, only 15-20% are related to genetic conditions.  Some children born with a complex CHD will not see their first birthday, however over 85% of babies born with a CHD now live to at least age 18.

Because of advancements in research funded by organization such as The Children's Heart Foundation death rates from CHD's in the US have declined by 37.5% since 1999.  The Children's Heart Foundation is the leading national organization that was created to exclusively fund congenital heart defect research.   They partner with the American Heart Association to cofound the Congenital Heart Defect Research Awards Program.  This program is a collaboration between medical professionals to better understand and treat CHD's.

In support of the fundraiser, I have added three new Wax Melts to the Farmhouse. They are Daisy Farmhouse Stand Barn Dance, Rustic Heart, and Farm Love.

If you pop over to the Farmhouse...don't tell if you happen to see the next big surprise I have to tell you about...I will be announcing it later this week.

With Love, Leah
